Positive Planet International is involved in the construction and management of programs aimed at preventing the socio-economic resilience of populations excluded from traditional education and employment channels, especially young people and women.
Today, the association mobilizes experts in entrepreneurship and microfinance to develop the economic autonomy of the most vulnerable populations, by acting in four ways:
– Accelerate their financial inclusion: By working for the emergence of financial services and distribution networks adapted to the needs of these populations and by developing financial education programs.
– Fostering entrepreneurship: By supporting associative and cooperative structures in the definition and implementation of services adapted to the needs of entrepreneurs and in particular the necessary training to create and develop sustainable income-generating activities
– Strengthen their position in the markets: By supporting small producers, in cooperation with the largest international buyers of agricultural products, to structure fair agricultural value chains and enhance the quality of production.
– Create the conditions for their resilience in the face of personal and collective hazards: Because the incomes of these families also depend on their access to energy, housing and health, Positive Planet International includes these components as soon as possible in the projects it leads.
The activities are spread in more than 20 countries, concentrated in priority regions: Africa (46%), Indian Ocean (13%) and MENA countries (15%). With some 42 active projects in 2018, 80,000 beneficiaries directly affected by training or personalized support and 120,000 people benefited from the programs.
Positive Planet International embraces the mission and shares the values of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It works on all the factors that trigger, in the field, a dynamic of development, with the aim of reaching, through its programs, the largest number of beneficiaries contributing to positively transforming our world for future generations.
